Instagram DMs Introduces Message Scheduling, Music Sharing, and Chat Pinning Features

Instagram has rolled out several new features for its direct messaging (DM) system, enhancing user experience with message scheduling, music sharing, and chat organization tools. Among the updates, users can now schedule messages to be sent at a later time, similar to the functionality introduced in iOS 18 for iPhones. This feature allows users to set a specific time and date for their messages by holding down the send button and selecting the desired schedule.

Additionally, Instagram has introduced a translation feature within chats, enabling users to translate messages into their preferred language directly in the conversation. This feature supports 99 languages and notifies Meta when a user opts to translate a message.

To help users manage their inbox more effectively, Instagram now allows the pinning of important chats to the top of the inbox, expanding the previous limit of three pinned chats. Users can also pin individual messages within a chat by holding down on a message and selecting the "Pin" option.

Music sharing has also been made more seamless. Users can send a 30-second preview of any song directly within the chat window, without needing to exit the conversation. This feature is available for both group and one-on-one chats. Users can share music by opening the sticker tray, selecting "Music," searching for a song, and sending the preview.

Lastly, Instagram has made group chats more accessible by allowing the creation of custom QR codes for group conversations. Users can generate a unique QR code for a group chat and share it with others, simplifying the process of adding new members compared to adding them individually.

These updates aim to streamline communication and make Instagram's messaging system more versatile and user-friendly.
