Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, is set to unveil Grok 3, the newest version of his AI chatbot, on Monday night at 8 PM PT (Tuesday 9:30 AM IST). The announcement, made on X (formerly Twitter), comes as Musk continues to compete with other AI developers, including OpenAI, which he co-founded with Sam Altman.  

Musk has boldly claimed that Grok 3 is the "smartest AI on Earth" and described its intelligence as "scary smart." During his recent appearance at the World Government Summit in Dubai, he hinted that Grok 3 would outperform all existing AI models. According to Musk, the chatbot has been trained on synthetic data and can learn from its mistakes by revisiting and verifying its data for logical accuracy.  

The launch of Grok 3 adds fuel to the ongoing rivalry in the AI sector. Musk’s company is striving to create the most advanced chatbot, while competitors like China’s DeepSeek are making waves with cost-effective AI models that challenge established players like ChatGPT.  

Meanwhile, tensions between Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman have escalated. OpenAI, initially founded as a non-profit in 2015 by Musk and Altman, transitioned to a for-profit model, drawing criticism from Musk. He stated, "They changed the name to 'closed' for maximum profit AI," and has even taken legal action against OpenAI over this change.  

The release of Grok 3 marks a significant moment in the AI industry, as tech giants and innovators like Musk and Altman compete to dominate the rapidly evolving field. With a live demonstration scheduled for Monday night, the world will soon see if Grok 3 lives up to Musk’s ambitious claims.
