With the much-awaited release of Pushpa 2: The Rule just around the corner on December 5, the Allu Arjun-starrer is already creating waves internationally. In the United States, the film is nearing an impressive $2 million in premiere show collections, with ticket sales crossing 70,000 across more than 1,000 locations. Holding a UA certification, the sequel is poised to join the ranks of RRR and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion as one of the few Indian films to potentially cross ₹100 crore on its opening day.
Following
the massive success of Kalki 2898 AD earlier this year, Pushpa 2: The Rule has
become the latest focal point for Telugu cinema's growing global influence.
With the US being the largest market for Indian films outside India, the
excitement is palpable. Current trends suggest the film will break the $2
million barrier for its premiere shows, with collections already at $1.96
million. Trade analysts are keen to see if it can challenge the $3.9 million
record set by Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD.
Domestically,
the film has seen tremendous anticipation, with advance bookings reaching ₹37
crore, including block bookings. If the film meets expectations and crosses
₹100 crore on its opening day, it will join the elite league of RRR and
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion as the only Indian films to achieve this feat.
Pushpa 2:
The Rule is the much-awaited sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, a
film that earned Allu Arjun the prestigious National Award for Best Actor. The
film has also secured a record ₹200 crore deal for its Hindi distribution
rights, making it one of the biggest deals for any Indian film.
Directed by
Sukumar, the movie boasts an ensemble cast that includes Rashmika Mandana, Fahad
Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj. With its global appeal and exceptional
buzz, Pushpa 2: The Rule is set to elevate Telugu cinema to new heights.
