Glenn Maxwell Hails Jasprit Bumrah as ‘Best All-Format Bowler of All Time’

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has showered high praise on India’s pace sensation, Jasprit Bumrah. Widely regarded as one of the finest bowlers in the world across all formats, Bumrah's remarkable skill set and consistency have drawn admiration from both teammates and opponents. Maxwell, reflecting on Bumrah’s performances, made a bold statement about the bowler’s future legacy, predicting that Bumrah will go down as the greatest all-format bowler the sport has ever seen.

Currently ranked No. 1 in the ICC Test bowler rankings, Bumrah’s versatility in Test cricket, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and T20s has set him apart. Maxwell highlighted that playing against Bumrah in both international cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been a unique challenge. In 15 innings against the Indian pacer, Maxwell has been dismissed by Bumrah seven times, underscoring the bowler’s ability to dominate even world-class batters.

Bumrah’s Exceptional Skills

Maxwell elaborated on what makes Bumrah so special. He pointed out that Bumrah’s unusual release point, which comes from far out in front of his body, makes it incredibly hard for batters to read his deliveries. "It almost feels like he can change where he’s bowling at the last moment," Maxwell remarked, emphasizing the unpredictability Bumrah brings.

The Australian all-rounder also praised Bumrah’s wide array of skills: his deceptive slower balls, pinpoint yorkers, and the ability to swing the ball both ways. According to Maxwell, Bumrah's exceptional wristwork, combined with his tactical acumen, gives him "all the tricks of a great fast bowler."

A Crucial Role in Upcoming Series

Jasprit Bumrah will be central to India’s plans for the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy, scheduled to begin on November 22. India will rely on his prowess to deliver match-winning performances against a competitive Australian side. While Maxwell himself won’t feature in the Test series, as he is no longer part of Australia’s red-ball setup, his admiration for Bumrah reflects the Indian pacer’s growing stature in international cricket.

Bumrah’s legacy continues to evolve, but with such glowing endorsements from opponents like Maxwell, it is clear that the Indian pacer is on track to become one of cricket’s all-time greats. His ability to deliver under pressure in all conditions makes him a vital asset for Team India as they prepare for one of the sport's most prestigious contests.
