Former
Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli, 52, has been diagnosed with brain clots after
undergoing medical tests. He was hospitalized on December 21 at Akriti Hospital
in Kalher, Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, after experiencing health issues. Dr. Vivek
Trivedi, who is treating Kambli, shared that he initially complained of a
urinary infection and cramps. However, further tests revealed the presence of
brain clots. His condition is being closely monitored, with additional tests
planned for Tuesday.
As a
thoughtful gesture, hospital in-charge S. Singh has extended an offer of
lifelong free treatment to Kambli at their facility.
Kambli has
faced numerous challenges over the years, including health problems and
financial struggles. A key player in the 1996 World Cup team, he suffered two
heart attacks in 2013 and has battled addiction. Earlier this year, he also
dealt with a severe urinary infection. Despite rumors about his friendship with
Sachin Tendulkar, Kambli expressed gratitude for Tendulkar’s financial support.
Kambli
recently attended a memorial event for his childhood coach, Ramakant Achrekar,
where he appeared weak and emotional, sharing a touching moment with Tendulkar.
Kambli
remains a beloved figure in Indian cricket. Legendary players like Sunil
Gavaskar and Kapil Dev have offered their support, while Kambli has shown
interest in joining rehabilitation programs to improve his health.
Fans and the
cricket community are rallying behind him, wishing him a speedy recovery.
Doctors are hopeful about his condition and continue to keep him under
observation.
