BSNL Unveils New Logo and Services Ahead of 4G Rollout

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is gearing up for the commercial launch of its 4G services across India. To mark this new phase, the state-run telecom giant has introduced a refreshed logo symbolizing its core values: security, affordability, and reliability. Alongside the new branding, BSNL announced seven innovative services, including enhanced spam filtering, national Wi-Fi roaming, fibre-based TV, and direct-to-device (D2D) connectivity.

These new offerings follow the August launch of BSNL’s 4G and 5G-ready over-the-air (OTA) platform and Universal SIM (USIM) technology, designed to support future network expansion.

The new logo and services were unveiled at BSNL’s headquarters in New Delhi. Key dignitaries attending the event included Jyotiraditya Scindia (Union Minister of Communications), Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani (Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications), and Neeraj Mittal (Secretary, Department of Telecommunications).

Key Services Introduced

1. Spam Protection:

BSNL now offers an automatic spam filtering system to block malicious SMS and phishing attempts without requiring user alerts, enhancing consumer security.

2. Wi-Fi Roaming for FTTH Customers:

Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) users can now access high-speed internet at BSNL hotspots, helping reduce data usage costs while maintaining seamless connectivity.

3. Fibre-Based Intranet TV:

BSNL has launched a TV service delivering 500+ live channels and pay-TV options. The data consumed for streaming will not count towards the customer’s FTTH data plan, ensuring uninterrupted viewing.

4. Any Time SIM (ATM) Kiosks:

BSNL introduced automated kiosks for SIM purchases, upgrades, replacements, and porting, available 24/7. The kiosks support multi-language interfaces and QR-based UPI payments for easy transactions.

5. Direct-to-Device (D2D) Connectivity:

BSNL’s D2D service bridges satellite and terrestrial networks, facilitating UPI payments in emergencies and extending coverage to remote areas.

6. Encrypted Communication for Crisis Management:

Aimed at government and relief agencies, BSNL has introduced a secure communication platform utilizing balloon and drone technology to support communication in disaster-stricken regions.

7. Private 5G Network for Mining Operations:

In partnership with C-DAC, BSNL is deploying private 5G networks to enable AI and IoT-based applications in underground and open-cast mines. The network will enhance safety analytics, remote vehicle control, maintenance through augmented reality (AR), and real-time fleet management.

With these initiatives, BSNL aims to deliver enhanced connectivity and user experience, ensuring affordable and secure services across India. As the telecom provider prepares for the full-scale 4G launch and future 5G expansion, it underscores its commitment to innovation and reliable communication solutions.
