A new
service called Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) is here to help mobile users
stay connected, even when their own network signal is weak. This service allows
Jio, Airtel, and BSNL users to automatically switch to another network
available at the same tower, ensuring uninterrupted calls and 4G data.
How Does
It Work?
The ICR
service lets telecom companies share mobile towers built with government
funding under the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) project. If your network
signal is weak or unavailable, your phone will connect to another network on
the same tower.
This means
you’ll always have access to the best available signal, no matter which network
owns the tower.
Helping
Remote Areas
The
government plans to bring 4G coverage to 35,000 villages using 27,000 shared
mobile towers. This will improve connectivity in remote areas, making it easier
for people to access education, healthcare, and business opportunities.
Benefits
for Everyone
Better
connectivity: Fewer
dropped calls and faster internet, even in areas with poor signals.
Shared
towers: BSNL, Jio,
and Airtel users can all use the same towers, reducing the need for separate
infrastructure.
Cost
savings: Sharing
towers helps telecom companies lower expenses, which could mean better services
for users in the future.
With this
new service, staying connected has never been easier!
