India’s Women’s Team Wins First Kho Kho World Cup, Beats Nepal

India’s women’s team made history on Sunday by winning the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi. They defeated Nepal in the final with an impressive score of 78-40, thrilling the crowd with their dominant performance.

Star players Anshu Kumari and Chaithra played key roles in the victory, showcasing incredible skill and determination. Their efforts kept India ahead throughout the match. Meanwhile, the Indian men’s team was set to play their final against Nepal later, aiming to follow the women’s success.

India started strong, scoring 14 points in the first round with captain Priyanka Ingle leading the way. Nepal struggled under pressure and couldn’t manage a single Dream Run, leaving India ahead with 34 points.

Nepal fought back briefly in the second round, with players Manmati Dhami and Samjhana B taking important dismissals. However, India’s Chaithra B achieved a Dream Run before Nepal’s Dipa managed an ALL OUT. Despite this, Nepal trailed with only 24 points by halftime, 11 points behind India.

In the final stages, India dominated completely. Chaithra B delivered another outstanding Dream Run, lasting 5 minutes and 14 seconds, helping India secure 78 points.

India’s path to the title included wins against South Korea, Iran, and Malaysia in the group stage, a quarter-final victory over Bangladesh, and a strong semi-final performance against South Africa.
