CCIC and NCFD Join Hands to Boost Artisans and Weavers Through Strategic MoU

In a significant move to promote the Indianisation of spaces and support artisans and weavers, the Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd (CCIC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Cooperative Construction and Development Federation of India (NCFD) on March 25, 2021. The collaboration aims to enhance business opportunities for artisans and weavers, aligning with the initiatives of the NCFD, a cooperative under the Ministry of Cooperation involved in engineering and construction projects across the country.

The MoU was signed by Shri Atul Varma, Executive Director of NCFD, and Ms. Simran Kaur, Company Secretary of CCIC, in the presence of Shri Manoj Lal, Managing Director of CCIC. The event also witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Shri Naveen Yadav, General Manager; Ms. Meera Somani, General Manager; Shri Vijay Singhal, Assistant General Manager; and Shri Anil Rajak, Assistant General Manager.

Under its new vertical, "Incidental Interiors and Artwork," The Cottage has been rapidly making its mark by incorporating Indian artistry into spaces both domestically and internationally. This MoU further strengthens CCIC's commitment to preserving and promoting traditional Indian crafts while creating sustainable livelihoods for artisans and weavers.

The partnership between CCIC and NCFD is expected to open new avenues for collaboration in construction and development projects, integrating Indian art and craftsmanship into modern infrastructure. This initiative not only aims to boost the economic prospects of artisans and weavers but also to celebrate and preserve India's rich cultural heritage.

The signing of this MoU marks a pivotal step towards fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth in the Indian handicraft and construction sectors, ensuring that traditional art forms continue to thrive in a contemporary world.
